Thelma Henry Diggs died peacefully at home September 9, 2017. She was 96 years old. Mrs. Diggs was born July 12, 1921, in Salisbury, Maryland to the late Bessie and Burton Henry. As a child, Mrs. Diggs grew up on Labrot Farm, which later became Sandy Point State Park. She lived in Annapolis until 2015 when she moved to assisted living in Severna Park. Mrs. Diggs was a graduate of Annapolis High School and later became well known throughout Annapolis for her sewing; one time even making drapes for the Kennedy Yacht and the Governor's...

Thelma Henry Diggs died peacefully at home September 9, 2017. She was 96 years old. Mrs. Diggs was born July 12, 1921, in Salisbury, Maryland to the late Bessie and Burton Henry. As a child, Mrs. Diggs grew up on Labrot Farm, which later became Sandy Point State Park. She lived in Annapolis until 2015 when she moved to assisted living in Severna Park. Mrs. Diggs was a graduate of Annapolis High School and later became well known throughout Annapolis for her sewing; one time even making drapes for the Kennedy Yacht and the Governor's Mansion as well as other historic buildings. She was a long time member of Trinity Methodist Church, The Edgewater-Parole Homemakers and "Tuesday Girls". She gave generously to charities and people in need; she sewed dolls for children at Johns Hopkins, made lap blankets for local nursing homes and donated hundreds of stuffed toys during the holidays. Mrs. Diggs was preceded in death by her husbands William A. Tongue, Sr and William S. Diggs, Sr. as well as her 10 brothers and sisters. She is survived by her daughter Peggy Tomanio of Venice, FL, son Williiam A Tongue, Jr. of Annapolis, MD and stepson Jesse Diggs of Stonington, CT. Mrs. Diggs was blessed to have 4 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
